Frequently asked questions
What is NSDR?
NSDR stands for non-sleep deep rest: a guided practice that takes you into a state of deep rest while you stay awake, usually lying down and following a voice. It is closely related to yoga nidra.
Is it OK to fall asleep while listening?
Yes. Many people do, and nothing is lost. If you need to be up at a given time, set an alarm before you press play.
Are these sessions really free?
Yes. You can listen on this page without an account. To keep a session, enter your email address and we send you a link to download the MP3.
Who recorded these sessions?
David Boulet, a certified hypnotherapist trained at the Hypnos Center in Montreal and in practice since 2009.
Is NSDR a treatment for insomnia or anxiety?
No. NSDR is a rest practice, not a medical or psychological treatment. If sleep problems last for weeks, or anxiety gets in the way of your days, talk to a doctor or a mental health professional.
