Free NSDR sessions

NSDR, or non-sleep deep rest, is a guided practice that takes you into deep rest while you stay awake. Certified hypnotherapist David Boulet recorded three sessions you can play here or download as MP3 files and keep, for free.

How to listen

  1. Lie down or sit somewhere comfortable and safe, where falling asleep has no consequence.
  2. In bed, choose a night version if the session has one; choose a day version when you need to get up afterwards.
  3. Press play and follow the voice. If your mind wanders, come back to the voice; there is nothing to get right.

Never listen while driving, operating machinery or doing anything that needs your full attention.

Frequently asked questions

What is NSDR?

NSDR stands for non-sleep deep rest: a guided practice that takes you into a state of deep rest while you stay awake, usually lying down and following a voice. It is closely related to yoga nidra.

Is it OK to fall asleep while listening?

Yes. Many people do, and nothing is lost. If you need to be up at a given time, set an alarm before you press play.

Are these sessions really free?

Yes. You can listen on this page without an account. To keep a session, enter your email address and we send you a link to download the MP3.

Who recorded these sessions?

David Boulet, a certified hypnotherapist trained at the Hypnos Center in Montreal and in practice since 2009.

Is NSDR a treatment for insomnia or anxiety?

No. NSDR is a rest practice, not a medical or psychological treatment. If sleep problems last for weeks, or anxiety gets in the way of your days, talk to a doctor or a mental health professional.
